COVID-19 UPDATE: We understand that the current situation with the coronavirus is constantly evolving and differs by community. We fully anticipate that we will be able to have a field season this year, but that situation could change quickly -- and differ by location. The most important consideration during this sensitive time is personal and community health. Please follow all relevant regulations and the advice of health care professionals when developing your survey plans for the Atlas. Don't hesitate to stay closer to home if that is the right thing for you and/or your community; the health of our volunteers is of paramount importance. Thank you!
Before you adopt a grid cell, please make sure that you have registered for the Pacific Northwest Bumble Bee project on Bumble Bee Watch
Step 1: Make Your Choice
The biggest need for Franklin's bumble bee is to find it. The grid cells below represent our best chance for doing so, and we hope to spread effort out throughout the range. All grid cells are available, but we've highlighted the ones that have been adopted by at least one person -- these grids are marked with an opaque white cover. Please let other grid cell adoptions serve as a guide and not a deterrent. We're hoping to spread effort throughout the range, and using this as a way to encourage you to head where others may not.
If you've already adopted one of the OR Grids as part of the general Atlas project, you do NOT need to also adopt a grid cell here (but you sure can).

Step 2: Adopt your grid cell by filling out the form below.
If you are on a mobile device or otherwise having difficulty, you can find the entire form here.
Step 3 (if you will be surveying in California): Review the webinar and take the quiz to get added to the Xerces Society's SCP for conducting surveys.
Reviewing these conditions from CDFW before taking the quiz will help you!
Thank you!
